Lil One,
less than 7 weeks.
holy cows.
We're getting so excited for you! Yesterday we packed your diaper bag-- with a few cute little hats and your going home outfit. (and some cute bows, blankets, burp clothes, etc.) It made it so real!!
In the past few weeks you've been getting the hiccups 2-3 times a day. It cracks me up! You seem to hate them tho. Once they pass you take out all your frustrations on one certain rib on my right hand side. You and that darn rib get in to it more often than not. I'm not real sure what that rib did to you; but you sure do take out your frustrations on it!!
This morning daddy had to go in to work early to scoop snow (yuck!) but you made sure that I woke up when he left. You did your morning aerobics earlier than normal today.
This Friday we go see the doctor again to hear your heartbeat and make sure you're still developing wonderfully. Then beginning the first week in January we start seeing the doctor every week. Daddy is going to tag along to those appointments. He wants to be there in case any decisions need to be made. He's a wonderful man. You'll just love him-- He's already head over heels for you, sweetie!
More soon; hopefully with a picture of the two of us (you'll probably have your toosh stuck way far out like normal!!)

30 Week Scare
Dear Little One,
I had quite the scare yesterday. Daddy and I went shopping yesterday morning for Black Friday. We got to our first store at about 8 AM. I quickly had to use the restroom as you love Love LOVE to jump on my bladder. Long story short, I found blood. We called the hospital and were told to head to the E.R.
That was the scariest trip of my life Little One. I was so worried and scared. I tried to stay calm and believe that everything would be okay; but it was hard to do! Daddy and I spent about 4 hours in the hospital yesterday. Turns out everything was okay. Thank heavens!! We did get another ultrasound. You were still a stinker and kept your legs clamped tight and your face hidden. They were able to confirm that you're still a little lady!
The nurses made me wear a fetal monitor while I was there. They quickly discovered just how active you are. You moved almost the ENTIRE time. The moments where I got to listen to your heartbeat were the best. It really is the best sound in the whole world.
When we got home, Daddy requested we do some online shopping for clothes, etc for you. Of course I agreed!
Now I need to get ready to head to Grandma Schotts to have Thanksgiving with her.
More soon Lovebug!

79 Days and Counting
Dearest Little One,
I just looked and saw that we are only 79 days away from your estimated arrival/due date. Seventy-nine. That's so few! According to the Bump, you are between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds and between 13.6 to 14.8 inches long; approximately the size of an eggplant.
Today you seem to be in LOVE with my ribs. Your little toes are sure exploring them like crazy. I'm almost 100% positive it's your toes because you sure give a strong kick to my ribs quite frequently today.
The past few nights you've been such a sweetheart to Daddy. Daddy and I have been laying on the living room floor just watching/feeling you. Two nights ago you kicked Daddy for a solid 30 minutes. Last night was almost an hour!! Daddy's face lights up when you kick him. Daddy was really excited when he found what we're pretty sure was your little hand last night. He can't wait to see you, hold you, count your little fingers and toes and smother you with kisses. Your Daddy is so in love with you already. It melts my heart to see.
Mommy is so anxious for your arrival. I can't wait to finally be able to hold you in my arms and to kiss your little cheeks. You've been making Mommy really tired lately. Mommy's been falling asleep by at least 9 every night. You're worth it tho, so I don't mind.
More soon.

3 months left!
Princess,
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've written. Mommy and Daddy have been busy getting things settled for you. We've been going through all of our "junk" storage and emptying it all out. Most of the bigger stuff we've gotten for you that you won't use right away now has a place to stay!
Today, Mommy and Daddy found you a cute lamp for the nursery. It's pink and frilly and gorgeous. You had fun today while Mommy and Daddy shopped. You were moving like crazy! I had to check several times to make sure your little toes weren't peeking out my tummy. You sure are strong!
Honey, I'd sure love it if you'd stop playing games with Daddy. Daddy just loves feeling you kick; but you're still holding perfectly still whenever Daddy tries to feel you. I just want to know: How do you know it's Daddy?
Yesterday marked week 27 of your development. Hopefully only 13 more weeks til your arrival. I'm so anxious for your arrival.
Love you little one!

To My Little Girl
Dear Little One,
Mommy's still trying to process that we know you're a girl. You have a name. (a secret name, but a name none the less)
Daddy and I went to Omaha this past weekend to see Aunt Liz and get you some cute clothes. You, sweetheart, will be a very well dressed little girl. One of these days I'm going to get all your clothes washed and put in drawers.. no hurry since you still are 15-ish weeks away. Plenty of time!
Daddy had so much fun finding cute little outfits for you, princess. He's going to spoil you like crazy. I can just tell you're going to be a daddy's girl. Just leave some love for mom, please!

12 Hours
Hokey Petes Little One!
We get to see you in just 12short long hours! I know you're excited too. You've been moving like CRAZY today!
I can't even BEGIN to describe how excited Daddy and I are to see you again. It's been entirely too long. Daddy would sure like it if you gave him a few kicks tonight though. Lately you've been being a little turkey and holding completely still for him and then kick kick kicking like mad the second he takes his hand away.
More tomorrow. LOVE YOU!!

Dearest Little One,
Oh. my. goodness. We're only three days away from your anatomy scan/gender ultrasound!! I am so anxious for Wednesday to finally get here! In preparation for the big announcement, I've been gathering guesses family members have on whether you're a boy or a girl. Here's some:
Daddy: Boy
Mommy: Boy
Papa Vermeer: Girl
Gma Vermeer: Boy
Auntie Shell: Girl
Kyli: Girl so you'll be her sister :)
Auntie Liz: Boy
Auntie Sarah: Boy
Uncle Dan: Boy
Uncle Mattie: Boy
Papa VR: Boy

I can't wait to see you again. Last time I saw you was 12 weeks ago. At that time you just had little chicken legs and were so tiny and scrawny. I'm sure you've grown so much! Please though sweetie, please cooperate and show whatever part of your body the ultrasound tech wants to look at... especially when it comes time to check if you're a boy or girl!! I love you bunches!

Week 23
Loved Little One,
I can't even begin to describe to you how loved you already are. Those kicks you're giving me right now are one of the most treasured things in my life. Not a day goes by that me and your daddy don't discuss what you'll look like, what you'll sound like, or what little quirks you'll have.
Little one when I discovered I was pregnant with you there was a huge flood of emotions. Obvioulsy there was excitement. I instantly ran to find your daddy to share the wonderful news of you! He was over the moon excited. Following the wave of excitement came my fear. Fear of wether or not I'd be a good mom. Fear of if we could still make ends meet while adding another little life to our family. Daddy calmed me down really quick. He says he's confident I'll be a great mom and that we will be just fine financially. Daddy's really smart so I had no choice but to agree with him!
Your daddy is an amazing and loving man. He was so good to me when you were just starting out. I had a solid month of morning sickness. Daddy spoiled me like crazy... He let me sleep in, made me breakfast every morning, made whatever meals sounded good to me and just made me feel loved even when I felt miserable. I can only imagine how wonderful he'll be with you.
Daddy is the strange voice who talks to you every morning when we get up and every night before bed. He loves it when you kick his hand when he talks. Especially since you sometimes have this trick where you hold super still if Daddy puts his hand on my tummy. Daddy prefers you kicking him rather than playing tricks on him.
The first time I went to the doctor because of you (at 8 weeks) I had a mixture of excitement and fear. I was excited to possibly get a chance to see you but scared that something might be wrong. The doctor surprised your daddy and I with a sneak peek of you. You were so little; about the size of a gummy bear. Your father and I started referring to you as our little gummy bear. :) We got a few pictures of you. I currently have them framed on my desk at work in a frame that says "Love at first sight". You're so loved little one.
After this appointment we started setting up your Noah's Ark themed nursery. Daddy really loves the lions in your room so be sure to play with all the lion stuff as much as possible, please. Some of the stuff in your room was new but your cousin Kyli had to play with them first. She justified it by saying, "But baby's not here yet. And I am."
We also took some cute pictures to use when we announced that we were expecting you..
More soon. Love you little one!

At 12 weeks we went back to the doctor for another check up. You were being quite the little stinker. You wouldn't hold still so the doctor could find your heartbeat. We ended up getting another sneak peek at you. You had grown so much in those 4 weeks. You were waving and kicking like crazy! Daddy and I were pretty excited we got a 2nd sneek peek at you. We decided then and there that you were going to be adorable.
Next Wednesday, Daddy and I get to see you again! We have the anatomy scan scheduled before the 24 week checkup. We're hopeful that you will use that opportunity to show us your 'goods'. This is the one and only time we ever want you to expose yourself. Got that little one? This is a one time deal! We can't wait to find out if you're a boy or a girl. Obviously we will love you regardless we just want to know what to prepare for. Will you need cute frilly dresses or camo print pants? Will you need hair bows or little ties? We have so many questions about what you will be like. (I'm thrilled to be able to start shopping for you!)
Next week Friday we're going to Omaha to start buying some gender specific clothes for you and to visit Aunt Liz. You're going to be spoiled. Better get used to being spoiled kiddo. There's a lot of people who love you already.
More soon. Love you little one!
